Greetings IPERS members:
As I write this letter, I’m completing my third week as the CEO of IPERS. Already, I know this with confidence: IPERS is an outstanding public retirement system that is administered by a capable, service-minded staff with guidance from a committed board. My enthusiasm for this role, and for Iowa, grows each day.
In these initial weeks, I am dedicating my schedule to listening to and learning from the staff, board members and other stakeholders who value IPERS and its impact. I want to understand Iowans’ perspectives on their retirement system so that I can best support and strengthen an already successful program.
Like you, I am a public servant. During my 30-year career in retirement and financial services, I have developed a passion for serving those who serve others. Under my leadership, IPERS will remain steadfast in its mission to cost-effectively pay benefits, maintain stable contribution rates, protect member information and provide outstanding service.
In closing, I want to thank Governor Reynolds for giving me the opportunity to return to my Midwestern roots and to all of you for entrusting IPERS to my leadership. I value your support for IPERS as we move forward together.
Sincerely,
Martin Noven
Chief Executive Officer
