Roby Smith

Roby Smith was elected to State Treasurer in November 2022. Smith and his wife, Kari, are raising their four children in Davenport, IA, where they are active in local youth sports and Trinity Lutheran Church. Smith was raised in the midwest by two elementary school teachers. He learned the values of hard work, honesty, and faith early on and has passed those values on to his children. After high school, Smith earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with a minor in Communications, from Concordia University. After spending nearly ten years as a local family banker in Iowa, Smith became a small business owner and then a member of the Iowa Senate. Smith accepted an unpaid position on the Quad Cities-area U.S. Bank board. In addition to his involvement at Trinity Lutheran Church in Davenport, Smith teaches local students about financial literacy through the Junior Achievement program, coaches youth sports, and serves on the Scott Community College Foundation Board.
